Band

Students in grades 4-8 are invited to participate in the HFCA Band. Instruction is provided by Music Education Services and is offered for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students. All teachers are certified with degrees exclusively in music education (IL K-12 Special). The program includes two group lessons per week, each lasting 30-45 minutes. Instruments include the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion (bells & snare). Music Education Services has partnered with Music & Arts to provide parents with an optional rent-to-own instrument program.

The HFCA Band joins musicians from four other area Catholic elementary schools and performs three major concerts annually. All students are also encouraged to participate in solo & ensemble festivals. Top achieving students will have the opportunity to participate in a special Honor Band in April. Students audition and are selected out of the best students in the Music Education Services system, all from the Chicagoland area.
