Successful philanthropists and entrepreneurs have one thing in common--they see a need and fill it. HFCA 8th grade students identified the need to encourage more girls to pursue math and STEM disciplines and formed a not-for-profit organization to formalize their plan. Read the article in the Daily Herald about how Ruby Arun, Megan Reyes, Teacher Ms. Kate McCully, and their team are great examples thinkers, leaders grounded in faith.

8th grader, Meghan McLaughlin used her talent and passion to write and perform a song that speaks to the strength and hope of our HFCA Community during this spring's stay-at-home order. States Meghan, "During the stay at home order, I decided to write this song to share positivity and hope. HFCA has truly inspired me by reassuring all of us that we are in this together through our school and faith community." Thank you, Meghan!

Reflecting on “lessons learned” in project management is intended to identify areas of improvement while also validating successes. The most agile of teams have processes and systems in place to evaluate what works and what needs improvement in real time. HFCA 7th graders had a clean sweep of awards from the Chicago Archdiocese's Catholic Campaign for Human Development's annual Creating on the Margins Contest. 3rd place for her art work went to Megan, 2nd place for their stop motion video, "More than a Roof" went to the team of Meaghan, Allison, and Ruby; and Issy won 1st place for her video, "The Truth about Homelessness." HFCA's culture of continuous improvement and steadfast commitment of our administrations, teachers, and staff has laid the groundwork to smoothly transition to e-learning during pandemic school closure.
